Annals of Innisfallen

This Treasure is paired with: Annals of Innisfallen (Poets and heroes)

Isfandyar fights a Simurgh on a journey to rescue his sisters, and the magician-king of Manzandaran changes into a rock to save himself from the warrior Rustam. They are two of many mythological, biblical, and historical heroes that illustrate this Persian epic, a history of kings from creation to the conquest of the Persian empire in the seventh century. Firdawsī completed the poem in 1010. It is considered the longest by a single author, at nearly 60,000 couplets.
