Elisabeth Pickering (c. 1510–1562)

Elisabeth Pickering was a printer and business woman. Her husband, Robert Redman, ran a successful printing business until his death in 1540, after which his widow took over the family printing business. She published about ten books after Redman’s death, most of them legal texts, printed under her own name. This small book of theological controversy is the first extant publication which is traceable to a woman printer in England.
