This Treasure is paired with: Shāhnāma (Poets and heroes)
The death of Úallach, ‘female poet of Ireland’, is listed here for the year 934 AD. We know of her only from this page, in an early chronicle of Irish history that records Viking invasions and deeds of kings and heroes. There is some other evidence for female poets in early medieval Ireland, and this listing suggests Úallach’s great skill. But she has not been securely identified as the author of any surviving poetry.
